You can track your Google rankings. You can measure your website traffic. You can see how your social posts perform. But until now, there's been no way to systematically measure whether AI tools are recommending your business. That's the problem GrafBuilder solves.
The measurement gap
When Google was the only game in town, analytics was straightforward. Install Google Analytics, check your rankings, monitor your traffic. The tools existed because the channel was mature.
AI search is different. When ChatGPT recommends a business, there's no click to track. When Google Gemini mentions you in an AI Overview, it doesn't show up in your Analytics the same way. When Perplexity cites your website, you might never know it happened.
Most businesses are flying blind in AI search. They don't know if they're being recommended, how often, for which queries, or whether things are getting better or worse. That's a problem — because you can't improve what you can't measure.
What GrafBuilder does
GrafBuilder is our proprietary AI monitoring platform, built in-house at Mk2 Creative. Think of it as the Google Analytics of AI search — it tracks how AI platforms see and reference your business over time.
At a high level, GrafBuilder monitors multiple AI platforms and tracks whether your business is mentioned, recommended or cited when users ask relevant questions. It turns that data into trends you can act on.
Here's what it measures:
AI mention tracking. Is your business being mentioned by AI tools? How often? For which types of queries? GrafBuilder monitors this across multiple platforms so you get the full picture, not just one AI tool's view.
Competitor visibility. It's not enough to know whether you're showing up — you need to know who's showing up instead of you. GrafBuilder tracks your competitors' AI visibility alongside yours, so you can spot opportunities and threats.
Trend analysis. A single snapshot is interesting. A trend over weeks and months is actionable. GrafBuilder shows you whether your AI visibility is improving, declining or stagnant, and correlates those trends with changes you've made to your website and online presence.
Query coverage. Different customers ask different questions. GrafBuilder monitors your visibility across the range of queries that matter to your business, so you can see where you're strong and where you have gaps.
Why we built it
When we started helping clients with AI findability, we hit a wall. We could optimise content and fix structured data, but we had no reliable way to measure the impact. We were making changes and hoping for the best.
That's not how we work. Every other part of digital marketing has measurement tools — Google Analytics for traffic, Search Console for rankings, social platforms for engagement. AI search had nothing. So we built something.
GrafBuilder started as an internal tool for tracking our clients' AI visibility. As we refined it, we realised it was solving a problem that no off-the-shelf tool addressed. It's now a core part of how we deliver AI findability services.
"We didn't build GrafBuilder because we wanted a product. We built it because we needed an answer and the tool didn't exist yet."
How it fits into your marketing
GrafBuilder isn't a standalone product you buy and use yourself. It's part of our AI findability service — the measurement layer that makes everything else accountable.
Here's how it works in practice: we audit your current AI visibility, identify the gaps, implement optimisations to your website and online presence, and then use GrafBuilder to track whether those changes are actually improving how AI tools see your business.
No guesswork. No "trust us, it's working." Just data showing whether your AI visibility is going up, down, or sideways — and why.
What GrafBuilder doesn't do
We're not going to pretend it does everything. GrafBuilder monitors AI visibility — it doesn't replace your Google Analytics, your rank tracker or your social media reporting. It sits alongside those tools, covering the AI channel that the others can't see.
It also doesn't game the system. There's no trick to force AI tools to recommend your business. What GrafBuilder does is show you the truth about your AI presence, so you can make informed decisions about where to invest your time and budget.
Why it matters now
AI search adoption is accelerating. Every month, more people are using AI tools to find businesses, get recommendations and make purchasing decisions. The businesses that can see this channel clearly will make better decisions than the ones guessing.
That's the value of measurement. Not flashy dashboards or vanity metrics — just a clear, honest view of where you stand in a channel that's growing fast and where most of your competitors are completely blind.
