What website platforms do you work with?

MK2 Creative works across all major website platforms — WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, and custom-built sites. We don't prescribe a particular platform or builder. We recommend based on what suits your business, your team's ability to manage the site day-to-day, and the technical requirements of your project.

How long does a website project take?

A standard business website typically takes 6–10 weeks from signed brief to launch. The biggest variable is usually how quickly content is supplied and feedback returned. Larger sites with custom integrations, e-commerce, or complex functionality take longer. We provide a clear project timeline at kickoff and keep you updated throughout.

Will I be able to update the site myself after launch?

Yes. Regardless of the platform we build on, we ensure you can manage your own content without needing developer access for routine updates. We provide a handover session on launch covering the most common update tasks. Many clients also choose to retain us for ongoing content management — the choice is yours.

Do you provide website hosting?

We don't resell hosting. We work with your existing host or recommend a provider suited to your traffic, performance requirements, and budget. We have established relationships with Australian and international hosting providers and can help you get set up correctly regardless of platform.

What SEO foundations do you include in every build?

Every MK2 Creative website includes correct heading hierarchy, schema markup for Organisation and WebPage, image optimisation, XML sitemap configuration, Google Search Console setup, and robots.txt and llms.txt configuration. We also configure Yoast SEO on WordPress sites, and equivalent SEO tools on Squarespace and Wix where available.

Do you build e-commerce websites?

Yes. We build e-commerce stores across multiple platforms — WooCommerce on WordPress for businesses wanting maximum flexibility, Lightspeed eCommerce for retail businesses that use Lightspeed POS in-store, and Squarespace Commerce for simpler product catalogues. We recommend the right platform based on your products, volume, and existing systems.

Can you redesign an existing website without starting from scratch?

Often, yes. We assess the existing site's structure, content, and platform before recommending the most efficient path. Some sites are cleanly rebuilt; others can be redesigned within the existing platform. We always give you an honest recommendation after reviewing your current setup — not just a default rebuild proposal.

Performance is built in, not bolted on. We configure caching, optimise images, and minimise unnecessary scripts regardless of platform. We target sub-2-second load times on all builds and run Core Web Vitals checks before launch. We also advise on hosting upgrades when server performance is the limiting factor.

Our ongoing site management covers platform and plugin updates where applicable, security monitoring, uptime monitoring, monthly backups, performance checks, content updates, and priority support for technical issues. Available as a monthly retainer across all platforms we support.

How do you handle AI visibility for the websites you build?

Every site we build includes the technical foundations for AI visibility — correct robots.txt, llms.txt, FAQPage and Organisation schema, and AI crawler access configuration. For clients who want to go further, our AIQO programme provides structured FAQ content, gap analysis, and monthly citation score tracking via GrafBuilder.

Do you manage websites for businesses outside Australia?

Yes. MK2 Creative manages websites for clients in Australia, the UK, and internationally. All work is handled remotely and we have active site management relationships across multiple markets. Platform availability, hosting requirements, and regional SEO considerations are all factored in for international clients.

Can you move my website from one platform to another?

Yes. We handle platform migrations — for example from Wix to WordPress, or Squarespace to a custom build — including content migration, URL mapping, redirect implementation, and SEO continuity checks. Moving platforms carries risk if not managed carefully; we plan migrations to minimise any impact on your organic search visibility.
